We’re supposed to be on the road to Yuma but Quicksilver got a call on the boat this morning and he’s been dealing with that since 9:30am. They bought it – banks are dealing with each other to switch the financing over and they’ve given us the balance.
They are on the lake right now. It was too bittersweet for me to go, lol. The people are fantastic tho – they are funny and totally feel bad that they’re taking our boat etc etc. The woman is very…outspoken and keeps calling me Miss Roxy. *snort* So nice tho – he’s never pulled such a big trailer and I’m not sure he’s ever even driven a boat! Makes me nervous but I know they will TRY to keep it nice. Quicksilver is with them ‘teaching’, lol. They really appreciate it & him. He is a good man
But I really want to be on the road and laying by the pool & drinking already!!! *SIGH* I do have Monday off, at least.
God, so yesterday I got really upset on the drive home (it’s 45min and all you can do is think about shit) and was crying off & on about something that happened a long time ago. I mean, I still get upset when I think about him, of course, you don’t NOT remember someone that was in your life for 23yrs you know?? But flat out crying, not so much anymore.
And usually it’s triggered when I see or hear or smell anything related to horses but I was on the frickin’ freeway! I was just CONSUMED with the senses of riding him, his muscular body moving underneath me, his mane tickling my hands, me patting his rippled shoulder (that ‘atta boy’ move) and just hearing the jingle of the bit and clop of hooves. I couldn’t shake it and I cried & cried & cried (while trying to drive 80moh…nice).
I get home and see there are friends in our garage so I had to suck it up but I went in to drop my shit off and glanced on the calender like I always do and stop dead in my tracks. Sunday is the 5th anniversary of the day he died. I had no idea. Guess he doesn’t want me to forget about him, huh? LOL
I got him when I was 10yrs old and he passed away when I was 33. He was *the* best guy & I miss him all the time, espeically when I’m in horse country and see people riding all the time.
He’s already an old man here – almost 18…

And here we were playing around with props for the Halloween class at the horse show. I changed it up a bit, but he still wore the hat & glasses & e won
I was like, 12, I think, lol!

Anyway – it probably doesn’t help that I’m PMSy too.
RIP Astra Gold (Assie)
