Food poisoning is NOT fun – especially when you live 45 minutes from work. And I had to get gas before getting home so I pulled into a spot and started pumping. This lady across from me had a mouse under her car. He was a happy mouse – sniffing around here & there for bits of food or whatever.
Typical little mouse. Then the lady was done and started getting in her car. I turned away & concentrated on the numbers on the pump. I didn’t want to hear a crunch or squeal as it got smooshed.
But silence; so I peeked over and he was gone, no body even. Then I noticed him up one car, near the trash can. Then he ran across the parking lot, dodging more cars. Victory! He had made it and I was glad
I finished up and turned to get in my car when I hear death cries.
I look over & there is a big, fat crow crunching & pecking to death the little mouse. He had escaped so many obstacles on what was obviously (now) his path of death, his destiny.
And yes, I was very sad. One second he is a happy mouse just trying to survive this crazy world and next…bird food.
I’ve felt like a mouse lately.

i can relate to occasionally feeling like a mouse for sure. gawd, all the obsticles that poor little guy endured just to be snatched up like that! crap
food poisening sucks no matter what! hope you’re feeling better.
